Beginning today, Monday, March 2, 1140AM will feature family friendly music programming with the launch of KYDZ Radio, a CBS RADIO station based in Las Vegas. Broadcast on-air, online (www.kydzradio.com) and on mobile devices, including the iPhone, KYDZ Radio artists will include the Jonas Brothers, Selena Gomez, The Plain White T’s, American Idol David Archuleta, Miley Cyrus, and more. The station is geared toward children 6-12 years of age and will promote children’s activities and local sports events, as well as highlight stories from the Clark County School District.
For kids, and by kids, KYDZ Radio will have limited commercial interruptions – many of which will be produced, read and aired by local children. Working in concert with the Clark County School District’s Community Partnership, the station will also develop a number of programs and content offerings which enhance the educational experience of students in Las Vegas.
“KYDZ Radio will provide the youth of the Las Vegas community an outlet to enjoy music FROM their peers, while also assuring parents that anything their children hear on the station will be appropriate content for their age,” said KYDZ Radio Program Director Cat Thomas. “As a father of two school age children, this an exciting project for me. Having a station that both my kids and I can enjoy together will make the experience all the more better,” says KYDZ Radio Program Director Cat Thomas.
KYDZ Radio will be involved with many outside events, such as Pet-a-Palooza, Bite of Las Vegas and Shots for Tots, events also sponsored by CBS RADIO stations Mix 94.1 and 98.5 KLUC.
KYDZ Radio is owned and operated by CBS RADIO, one of the largest major-market radio operators in the United States.
